With the firm intention to continue learning, Marc Coma started in brilliant fashion the Raid World Championship 2004. Already in the first round in Tunisia, Avia finished in second place overall and three stage wins to add to his tally. In the raid of Morocco repeated position and with his partner Isidre Esteve achieved a historic double for Team Repsol KTM, to cornering the top two spots on the podium. Eat contested the Rally of Sardinia, who finished a creditable sixth place, in order to prepare for participation in the Baja Aragon. And that preparation, with the great time going through the young pilot would prove essential, since for the first time in his career was proclaimed winner of this prestigious event. But not all would be happiness. When he was second in the Rally of Egypt, the death of Richard Sainct made all KTM riders leave the proof to honor him. The ultimate test of championship did not serve the interests of Marc because, despite winning two of the four stages, a break in the rear wheel axle prevented him from winning the fight for Raid the UAE. Finally, Marc got the seventh position after the World Cup Raids.

In constant progression, Marc Coma was fast and secure throughout the 2004 season, two prerequisites to be ready to fight for the Dakar 2005. Marc Coma and faced it with a clear idea in mind: removing the thorn stuck in the previous year. However, that goal was never obsessed and calmly rolled all times, measuring the risks very well. He led the test several times and although he had signed the result before taking the exit, the second place finish he knew little. It did not reflect what he had done in the race, I could have done and all he had suffered. Coma was superb and could have won the race. He was capable and had a great self-confidence, no crashes, looking perfectly at the bike and following exactly this plan. Unfortunately he found minor setbacks, such as running out of gas three miles from refueling. Unable to continue because his room mate Gio ceded his own, but lost very precious minutes. The cancellation of stages that could have been favorable and especially the deaths of "Carni" and let him hit Meoni, but was always among the best.

The victory way

Raids World Champion.

In his fourth appearance in the Dakar, this simple and extroverted enduro rider made one of his dreams, although there were many other goals to achieve. Already established as one of the best drivers on the international scene, Marc Coma facing forward to the World Rally Championship Cross-Country 2005, and other interests in national and international tests. The mechanics prevented him from finishing the "McMillin Nevada 1000" and the Baja Spain Aragon, but ended up being awarded the prestigious Rally of Sardinia test. He participated in four of the seven races that count for the World Championship. He won two of them, the Rally of the Pampas in Argentina and the Rally of the Pharaohs in Egypt, finished second in the Rally of Morocco ORPI and had to leave in the Sertões Rally of Brazil when leading the race with authority. He came to the ultimate test in Dubai as championship leader, and when it seemed that luck was going to be elusive again by repeating a battery problem which suffered in Egypt, came second in the UAE Deserts Challenge and its first title II. A just and deserved reward for their effort and sacrifice.
