Victory for Marc Coma in the Rally of Sardinia
The Spaniard achieved his fifth victory in the Rally of Sardinia
The last stage of Sardinia Rally Race 2011 has faced a special drivers to 150 km in the path toward the goal of San Teodoro. Despite being the final stage of Rally, the stage was very complicated and demanding, with many difficulties of navigation. Marc Coma finished the stage in eighth position, due to a small problem with the "trip" that had to change, which has made him lose more time. However, the advantage of more than six minutes he enjoyed the Spaniard after the fantastic results of the previous days, he has kept the overall lead and come to San Teodoro as the winner of the test.
Marc Coma clinched his fifth victory in this test after a splendid performance in which he has won 6 of the eight disputed special, finishing with a lead of 4'15 .81 over his closest pursuer. Avià driver thus gets his second win of the season in the FIA World Cross-Country Rallies.
Marc Coma: "In this last stage we had enough room to play with and have tried to reach the end without taking risks or making mistakes. It went well, I only had a small problem with the trip, we had to change and that we has lost some time, but we had a sufficient cushion. This last stage has been surprisingly hard, because the last day is usually processed almost, but here the journey has been long and not easy. the bike worked perfectly, I I felt very comfortable throughout the test and, once again, I have to acknowledge the work of the team, which has been fantastic.
