Marc Coma, second in the 2012 Dakar
With the dispute over the last 29 competitive kilometers and failure to complete the last link, Marc Coma has just finished in second place a new edition of the Dakar. Always spectacular, the race was a test year the titanic able to offer the most beautiful pictures of competition on the most inhospitable planet where the battle between the rider Cyril Despres and MRW, today proclaimed champion and runner-up respectively, have brought excitement to the end.
Mechanical problems prevented Coma yesterday to keep the pressure on the French, after getting more stage wins, five-than any other rival. This evening will be held in Lima, the ultimate goal of the Dakar 2012, the awards ceremony, after going through three stages over 14 countries and nearly 9,000 miles. In its tenth participation, MRW pilot adds three overall victories -2006, 2009 and 2011 - and two second positions -2005 and 2012 -, confirming one of the names of the race.
